TETERINO
Valentin Terentievich Vishniakov
at the estimated site of execution of the Jews from Teterino on the bank of the river Drut. Valentin Terentievich Vishniakov, born in 1946. I originate from Teterino. My grandmother told me that before the war our village had been a Jewish settlement. All the Jews were killed during the war. In order to humiliate the local residents, they were made to fill a cistern with water using spoons. The men were tied to each other by their arms and thrown into the river. This was done by the local Nazi policemen. The cruelest of them was a man named Shal. Olga Nikolayevna Klimkova, born in 1927. During the war I used to live near Teterino. There were five Jewish students in our class. I remember the Nazis taking away the Jews from the village. There was no Jewish cemetery in Teterino – the bodies were buried somewhere else.
